Annual Fall Outing

The Kiwanis Club Of Washington, D.C. Our Fall Outing is held at Wheaton Park, a beautiful public parkland in the Maryland suburbs, where the emphasis is placed on letting over 500 disadvantaged children enjoy a "day in the country" playing, boating, animal watching or just enjoying being away from the inner-city.   Again, the children, most of whom require wheel chairs or orthopaedic appliances, are assisted by Kiwanians, their spouses, Circle K members, Key Clubbers, and students from the Landon School and Stone Ridge Academy.  Apart from entertainment, the children are treated to a mountain of food cooked and served by Kiwanians and our KiWives --- over 700 hot dogs and hamburgers, potato chips and pickles, smothered by gallons and gallons of ice cream and soft drinks.  A memorable time for all!
